ill.Gates is powering his way towards the epic Terminally Ill album and in the 2nd installment of sampler remix EPs he turned to a collaboration with Los Angeles based Trap/Bass music maestro, Stephan Jacobs, and the vocal skills of Mayor Apeshit. The result is a funky high powered blend of bouncy beats, melodic synth stabs and the vocal hype pushing it even further up the dance friendly meter. The EP features a tough cast of remixers with KJ Sawka upping the funk meter even further and a little tougher, Frank Royal then provides a pumping future-bass version utilizing the synth aspects to maximum effect, Subp Yao takes to deeper and even more glitchy, Pigeon Hole then ups the bounce quotient substantially and Kris Cayden slams it as hard as his can into a wall of headbanger mayhem. ill.Gates is a Toronto-born San Francisco based composer, performer and educator.
