You may know that we have a couple. sister labels to Muti Music and one of them is Medicine.
This latest project on Medicine is one that we are particularly fond of:
Nahlith & Mah Ze Tar – Ancients
Ancient melodic echoes of the East meet the deep bass pockets of post-modern electronic composition.
From the artists:
“This musical journey arose out of a collaborative desire to make music that transcends borders. In a time of great division, the artists feel a strong need to find the threads of harmony in the unified fields of frequency. This EP is a masterful collaboration between Nahlith and Mah Ze Tar, capturing a wide range of emotional & somatic audacity while preserving cultural significance. Mah Ze Tar incorporates the Oud, Sitar, Saz, Ney, Duduk, and Persian vocal chanting over the cutting edge deep bass grooves created by Nahlith. These two artists come together to take us on a musical journey across time, space, and sacred sites. “
Nahlith is a Canadian, Victoria BC based producer, specializing in deep wobbles and beautifully flowing beats.
He’s made his mark on the deep Dubstep sound very quickly, with releases on Duploc, Medicine, LDH, Nomine Sound, D-BLK, Cimmerian Records, FKOF, Prime Audio, WiddFam and SUB garden.
Māh Ze Tār is a musical fusion project by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Maz Karandish. This project was propelled by the vision of fusing traditional Eastern music with modern electronic composition as a form of cultural preservation. Maz is quickly becoming a known figure amongst world and bass music producers with his solo performances and collaborations with the likes of Balkan Bump, David Starfire, Jeff Stott, Akriza and Nahlith.
