Sharps is a Canadian artists pushing versions of Future Garage/Dubstep tunes to some funky and very fun places. First introduced to us at Muti Music with his remix of ill.Gates & Meesha feat. Masia One - Irma Vep, we were eager to hear more and 'Bad Sister' is just what we needed to hear. Sharps began writing beats in the mid 90’s as rave culture emerged in his birth town of Edmonton, Alberta. Inspired by these sweaty parties and the complex IDM of the time, he put together a studio rig and started making tracks, distributing cassette tapes and CDs. Rooted in a belief in the underground and cutting edge bass culture, he broke into the international scene in 2007 with his bomb “Nightwork”, a mutant crossover tune that got heavy play from the biggest DJs in the North American and UK bass underground. Since then he has continued to release top-shelf material for the bass music scene. Some of his highlight tracks from the last few years include Turbo, Girl Sweat, The Limit and My Little Pony - a remix of Ginuwine’s hit that went off the charts during the summer of 2009. His recent release “Tropical Bass” features a hybrid sound fusing latin dembo riddims with the west coast bass sound. As a DJ, Sharps’ sets are a colorful blend of originals, remixes and edits from across the spectrum of damn good dance music. Sharps now resides in Vancouver, BC where he continues to create heavy tunes and manage Saedos Records (saedos.com), a label dedicated to cutting edge bass music.
