We first got to know TASO at Muti Music as an emerging producer in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2012. He had a few tunes out on various labels including Full Melt and Mallabel Recordings, he had also justremixed Cutty Ranks with Djunya on Philip Music.
We went on to release his debut album ‘ Off Top’ on Muti Music, which also included collaborations with Djunya and Trevor Kelly and a remix he had done of Yheti’s – Crack The Window, a tune that was to become an instant classic.
He also released the EP LB4$ (Love Ballads For Strangers) as well as remixing reggae legend Sizzla and far east empress Masia One on Muti Music .
When TASO released his debut album Off Top on us, we knew he was a unique talent and over the past 10 years, it has been an absolute blessing to watch his emergence as one of the most influential producers in Juke, Footwork and other varying forms of experimental and unique bass music. Following his debut album he went on to record numerous tunes with DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn play a large part of the influential album Double Cup. He went on to collaborate with he likes of Alix Perez, Fracture and Truth and to produce other musicians and vocalists as far a reach as Egypt and Mexico.
