We are overjoyed to present the debut release by Shelajit. Both of these tunes feature violinists who add a little bit of their own flavor to augment the beautifully flowing chilled out beats. Imugi featuring Jamie Shadowlight, creates a deep flowing ambiance, with rising notes seemingly transporting us to another dimension, while the warm wobbles below, manage to ground us to this plane. Iyagi has a warmth to palatable that you can almost feel the heat of a humid jungle, intricate percussion engage your mind and the beautiful violin by SOJI acts as the elements that embraces us as we bliss out to these delicious beats. Like the medicinally rich black tar which she derived her name, Shelajit represents the primal embodiment of the deep, feminine, void of creation. As a lifelong dancer, she intentionally creates music to inspire deep dancefloor journeys. Shelajit's sound is an array of tribal bass, dubstep, downtempo, and half-time with organic textures, dreamy soundscapes, and layered percussion. She feels most inspired when she collaborates with other femme artists and values the potency of unified self-expression. In her live sets, Shelajit creates a fluid bass temple with an infectious dance container. Expect to hear tribal rhythms and lush vocals woven with dirty basslines, deep dubs, grime, and trap. Oftentimes she is accompanied on stage with other instrumentalists and dancers adorned in original costumes and ritual elements. On a deeper level, this project aims to unify creative individuals and amplify the natural essence and power inside all beings as they dive deep to express their truth and individual artistic voices.
